The kids are back at school, the leaves are turning and the nights are drawing in.  It’s the perfect time of year for me to do some soul-searching and soul-planning for the coming 12 months.

September is the new January after all!

With that in mind, I have been on the ball this year and already have my 2018 Planner in my hot little hands. I wanted to share with you the reasons why I think this collection is so special. It will be my third year of planning the Desire Map way.

Danielle LaPorte has been working on these planners for the past five years, and each year they get even better. Not only do they help you plan your day and week, but they help you put your soul on the agenda. On every page you are prompted to remember your CDFs (core desired feelings). This is the key to Desire Mapping and creating a life you love.

Will it be the Weekly or Daily Edition?

Whether you like to plan every day in minute detail or work better with a weekly overview, these planners have you covered. My personal favourite is the weekly edition as I also have an electronic diary for my day-to-day appointments and my planner sits on my desk to help me focus on what’s important during the week. The daily planner is slightly larger too and I don’t have a massive handbag so it’s not great for me.

Test drive the Daily and Weekly 2018 Desire Map PlannersTo check out which edition suits you best, Team D has put together a free download so you can test drive the Daily and Weekly layouts to see which one suits you best. It’s all well and good me telling you which suits me best, but having a mooch around yourself is always better.

Print off the pages and work with them for a couple of days to see which version suits you best.

The Vibrant or Sophisticated Cover?

This isn’t a tough choice for me. The gorgeous vibrant pink and teal versions are my favourites, but if you’re looking for sleek and sophisticated then the Charcoal and Gold combination is stunning too. Each version has an elastic closure so it won’t spring open in your bag and the spiral binding makes it easy to keep open – a bugbear of mine with some other planners.

What makes it better than a normal Diary?

Now, this is the most frequent question that I get asked. For me, it’s the daily, weekly and monthly reminders to put myself first that are most important. Sure I could pop down the street and buy a normal diary, but that doesn’t help me FEEL any differently about my life. The Desire Map Planner invites you to put your soul on the agenda. It asks that you know what you want to stop doing and want to change as much and what you are grateful for. Gratitude is a very powerful but small mind shift that can really affect your attitude in a positive way.

If you’re sick of simply adding appointments and endless to-do lists to your diary, then this planner helps you really figure out what’s important to you. The fact that it is so thoughtfully laid out and luscious to hold makes it even better. It feels like an investment to me and reminds me that how I feel each day is crucial to both my home life and business. And for that reason alone it is on my list of ‘must haves’ each and every year.

And if you’d like a first-hand view then check out my first ever YouTube video below. It’s all new to me so please don’t laugh!

To order your own Planner, here are the options I would recommend for the best deal, depending on where you live:

USA: straight from Danielle LaPorte’s website (this is an affiliate link)
Canada: Amazon.ca
UK & Europe: Amazon.co.uk (this is an affiliate link)
Australia: Book Depository (free worldwide shipping!)

I would love to point you all straight to Danielle’s site, but international shipping fees are insane at the moment and there’s nothing I can do about that. If you’re going to buy though, I would order soon as they always run out and I’d hate you to be disappointed!

So there you have it folks. My rundown of the 2018 Desire Map Planners. I hope you join me next year and see the benefits of this gift of a planner will give you every single day.
