No matter how long I have been using Oracle cards, they still often surprise me with their poignant and accurate messages.
So last week, as my youngest lay on the sofa with a fever and I too succumbed to flu, I drew this card from my Ascended Masters Oracle Deck:
This card was so spot on that I kept it in my kitchen so that I could see it regularly throughout the week.
I was stuck at home, had to cancel numerous appointments and meetings and pretty much got nothing done – so what blessings could I find?
Well, here are just a few:
- We were warm and cozy tucked up on the sofa
- We had plenty of food in the house
- Lots of cuddles – nothing better than having Mummy cuddles when you’re ill
- My amazing clients & friends who were very understanding when I had to cancel on them
- We have Netflix – this was top of my son’s list too as we both agreed it would have been far more boring without it!
Instead of focusing on what I was missing and the things I ‘should’ have been doing, I focused on the positive blessings of the week. I didn’t worry what others would think and made sure that we took proper time to recover. In fact, I’m sure that by doing so we got over it more quickly than we would have if we had ploughed on and ignored the symptoms!
Although last week was a bit of an extreme example, it is important to count your blessings whatever your situation is. The more you focus on the positives of any situation, the happier you will become.
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” ~ William Arthur Ward
My mentor always says “Like Attracts Like”, so if you are grateful for what you already have and look for blessings, you will attract more of the same into your life. It takes a bit of work to make it a daily habit, but it is worth it. Simply start by writing down three things you are grateful for at the end of every day. It doesn’t take long and helps to tune you in to the blessings that have already taken place during the day and means you will be more open to more blessings coming to you the following day too.
Now we’re feeling better it’s time for a new oracle card – I wonder what my message will be for next week…
